when would be the best time to visit the East coast? We are coming from Australia and hope to visit New York, Washington and Orlando for the theme parks

I like May %26amp; June, nice weather but not too hot yet.

Mid to late September %26amp; October is also nice.

Going on July %26amp; August is way too hot, IMHO, especially in Florida.

Well, I would suggest staying away during the summer (at least from Orlando). We have temperatures near 100 and severe humidity to top it. New York and Washington can also be stifling in the summer months(July/August). My suggestion would be Spring (April/May) or Fall (September/October)to be comfortable in all three places.

Agree with Francesca that April/May or Sept/Oct are generally best weatherwise for all the cities you mention. Obviously you%26#39;ll find better hotel prices in less desirable months for each city though.

I%26#39;ll mention that I%26#39;ve always wanted to see the cherry blossoms in Washington and have yet to do it. The cherry blossom festival in 2006 is March 25-April 9.

The months immediately after the vernal equinox ( 21 March ) or around the autumnal equinox ( 21 September. )

Specific solution now becomes personal preference.

With what I know, I%26#39;d say BEST two week periods are last two weeks in May or last two weeks in September.

But, hey. Sometimes things don%26#39;t work out the way you want them to.

An ';east coast'; trip to Ozzieland I made recently with my wife was Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns. When you come here reverse the direction of travel ( and the names ) and you%26#39;ll be going to Boston, New York, and Key West.....cities with the similar characters to their ';down under'; counterparts.

Can%26#39;t miss.
