Best way to see Statue Of Liberty?

Hi,

It will be my first time to NYC, what is the best way to see the SOL? Is it to cruise round or actually go and look around? Can you recommend the best company for a Manhattan cruise?

This is the 4th post I have made on the New York Forum and have yet to recieve a reply for any of them!!!! What am I doing wrong? On the San Francisco forum everyone seems so friendly...........!

Well, I guess I wouldn%26#39;t call us rude, but us NYers certainly keep to ourselves. Only kidding. I%26#39;ve noticed the same thing. Just not a travel message-board sorta town I guess.

Two great ways to see the statue. Either take the round-trip tourist ferry to the statue (and/or Ellis Island). It leaves from Battery Park (southern tip of Manhattan) and it is CROWDED! Go early. Tickets for inside the statue and Ellis island are included. If you wanna do the whole thing and go inside and all, plan on most of a day a tons of walking.

Or, if you just want to ';see'; it, take the Circle Line cruise around Manhattan - very dramatic - fabulous view right up close! Leaves from the Circle Line pier at 42nd Street and the Hudson river.

Hi SammyG

Yes, take the curise to SOL. You can either do it at Manhattan which is not so crowded or at New York. Be sure to be early as you need to go through a security screening. The first curise is at 9.30am.
