Looking to drive (max. 4hrs ) from NYC to go skiing. We are average skiers mostly blues and some blacks. Anyplace that has some nice/upscale hotel - Resort of Spa?

Mt. Snow in West Dover, VT is my suggestion, plenty of snow right now and about 3-4 hours from NYC, depending on traffic of course.
They have everything from %26#39;bunny%26#39; slopes right on up to the expert trails. Plus excellent lodging in the upscale category.
There are other places that I%26#39;m sure will be recommended, but in my opinion, you can%26#39;t beat Mt. Snow.
