Shoes or Boots?

I%26#39;ll be in NYC over the holidays and want to know if it is better to wear shoes or boots when walking/shopping around?

I%26#39;m from Ottawa, so I know how nasty it can get on the sidewalks when its snowy and cold. I%26#39;m not sure if I should go with something that is more comfortable for walking or something that is more weather proof?

Shoes or Boots?

If you are only going to bring one pair to walk in, bring boots because if it snows, there is usually ankle deep slush at the corners in Manhattan.

Shoes or Boots?

You%26#39;ll need fall season comfortable boots. Lots of walking in NYC. They don%26#39;t have alot of snow like what we get here. It%26#39;s usually 10 Celsius warmer there...

Slush drives the answer.....WATERPROOF boots.....Gore-Tex (breatheable) best

Boots, definitely! It%26#39;s not even Christmas and we%26#39;ve already got slushy messes on the streets - and it%26#39;s only going to get worse...

What about going to Broadway shows or nice restaurants for supper?

Yes, there are some fashionistas who are so dedicated to fashion footwear, they sound like they follow the ';U.S. mail carrier credo'; - ';neither rain, no sleet nor gloom of night will keep me from wearing my pointy shoes!';

But seriously, don%26#39;t worry about the fashion police when it%26#39;s cold or there%26#39;s slush on the ground. Unless you drive everywhere, or have a personal limo, everyone expects and accepts clunky footwear in the winter.

Right answer.....

Don%26#39;t worry, be comfy.

Enjoy.

There are all sorts of storm boots, or at least water-proof ones, that are more than dressy enough for dining or the theatre.

A fake patent-leather w/a bit of a heel fits the bill.

If, however, you just want to go with big snow boots that, too, will be fine. You%26#39;ll find yourself in good company, I%26#39;m sure.

The most important thing is to keep warm %26amp; dry enough to enjoy your holiday.
