Hi great people of Tripadvisor!!

Just watched the movie Dark Water and i was stunned to see there is this very interesting place called Roosevelt Island. Please can anybody tell me a bit about this place? I`ve been to New York four times and everytime i go there me and my wife are looking for something different experiences and i think we just found our next target.

Roosevelt Island

you might want to stop at conrans place - 59 st and 1 ave on the way - sev. places to eat and shop. nicer to walk to sutton place, sev little parks there.

there%26#39;s a nice boardwalk on RI, but otherwise it%26#39;s just a residential area. it%26#39;s ok, but not would i would call pretty. subway stops there and funicular - which is more interesting. there%26#39;s a bus that runs from funicular stop to the buildings.

It`s just so amazing how fast you are!!! Thanks again and keep it coming.

While riding the tram gets some lovely views, I don%26#39;t think you will see much at this time of year on the island. Lots of more interesting places I can think of to spend time. The history of the island is here

Well i think the next trip will be around april or may but like i said watching the movie i was like whoaa! Sweet! gotta go there next time in New York!

Just so you%26#39;re not disappointed, you should know that the real Roosevelt Island is not dark and foreboding and scary like the one in the movie. At the risk of insulting people who live there, it%26#39;s kind of antiseptic.

Watched the film too and thought WOW have to go there. Loved the tram.

Shopping my priority this time as been before and crammed all the tourist things in, so might have a day off to go sight seeing.
