Can anyone help with a good place to find Tanzanite Rings in NYC that are competitively priced.

The only place I%26#39;ve ever noticed it in NYC has been at Tiffany%26#39;s, not usually known for ';competitive pricing.'; There are quite a few websites that have jewelry made with it, but the color of the stones looks fairly anemic relative to what I%26#39;ve seen in person at Tiffany. Don%26#39;t know if that%26#39;s just the photos or the quality of the stones. Normally we recommend Fortunoff as a good place to get value on jewlery but they don%26#39;t seem to have any tanzanite.

You could also try the diamond district W 47th St between 5th and 6th Ave. Most of the jewelers there have more than just diamonds. The jeweler I use has tanzanite and many colors of sapphires.

A right answer is 47th between 5th Avenue and Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue).....don%26#39;t go tired or hungry.....the vendors are all fine tuned professionals who negotiate every day of their working lives.....they will absolutely wear you out.....but they will not cheat you if they see you know what you%26#39;re talking about.

If you don%26#39;t.....well, that%26#39;s another story.

I collect Tanzanite and I have just returned from a trip to New York.

I found lots of places that sold Tanzanite, but I do remember that Macy%26#39;s sold some nice reasonable pieces.

Thanks madmaxgirl - how do the prices compare with UK high street prices and are the stones generally good quality (deep blue). Any other tios about buying would be appreciated too as we have only the piece of Tanzanite that I bought my wife on a cruise but she loves it and wants more now!!! Thanks.

Hi Martin, we did see some paler tanzanite but we also saw alot of the darker tanzanite. Macy%26#39;s had some darker tanzanite.. I looked at a lovely ring that was about 拢400. They also had big pieces that were about 拢1000.

Most of the jewellrey shops we went in sold tanzanite.

Tiffany%26#39;s also had some lovely tanzanite.

My husband buys all my tanzanite and he thinks it%26#39;s cheaper and better quality in the USA.

Put it this way, last Xmas he bought me a pendant from England for 拢450.. we saw the exact same one in New York for 拢250 !
