arriving JFK---going to Bills/Jets game

What area is the best to stay for 2 college students arriving into JFK and planning on going to Bills/Jets game on 1/1. Need hotel for 12/30-1/2. Would it be better to stay near JFK, stadium area, or somewhere close to NYC transporation?

Oh boy. Well, the Jets play at the Meadowlands in NEW JERSEY. It would have been ideal to fly into Newark but I guess this is already done. Your choices are to stay in Manhattan and use the bus at Port Authority to get to/from the game OR to stay at a hotel near the Meadowlands stadium in New Jersey. Be warned if you%26#39;re under 21, some hotels won%26#39;t take you.

You might want to stay at a hostel in Manhattan. The Westside ';Y'; gets ok reviews as does the Vanderbilt Y. Port Authority where the bus comes/goes is nearer the Westside Y but it may be filled with people coming for New Year%26#39;s in Times Square. You certainly left this to the last minute.

For hotels near the Meadowlands, check the New Jersey section here.

I should have mentioned the area of the Meadowlands is Secaucus. I did a search and found the Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands that%26#39;s cheap ($113/night) available on your dates and there%26#39;s a bus outside to NYC. What I don%26#39;t know if what transport there%26#39;d be to the stadium. Here%26#39;s the info

To get there from JFK, take the bus to Port Authority and from Port Authority, there should be another bus that stops in front of the hotel. The only downside to staying there is bus service to/from NYC stops at midnight.;(

I ended up getting the Homestead Suites, East Rutherford on priceline for $61 night. It is suppose to be right near the Sheraton/Meadowlands. Are you familiar with this area. They say you can walk to the stadium.
