Theater Tickets

We are trying to get tickets for Wicked, Spamalot, The Color Purple and Rent.

We tried Playbill.com and broadway.com and broadwayoffers.com. No luck.

Any suggestions as to where we can find some?

two suggestions--wait until you get to nyc and stand in TKTS booth line. Most likely RENT tix will be available. Or go to www.broadwaybox.com. They will give you the promo code which will lead you to Ticketmaster. You can purchase your discounted tickets on line. (Just checked RENT which does have tix available).

Spamalot %26amp; Wicked will be almost impossible. You may want to try the following websites:

www.stubhub.com

www.craigslist.org (click on NYC, then tickets).

www.ebay.com

Rent should be available, not sure about The Color Purple.

almost all the shows are dark on Sunday, Jan 1 due to adjusted holiday schedule

to maximize the number of shows you can see

Rent has a show Monday so it on Jan 2

then you can see a show Jan 3 and two shows on Jan 4 because it is a Wednesday

you should be able to get ticket for Rent at TKTS and most likely Color Purple

for Spamalot and Wicked you can try the cancellation lines at the theatres but that means you%26#39;re going to have to wait in line all day

A friend of mine saw the Color Purple earlier this month by going to the box office the day of the show she wanted to see. She paid full-price for tickets, but said her seats were fabulous.

The good news is that January, after the New Year%26#39;s Day holiday is over, is Broadway%26#39;s slowest month. On the 3rd and the 4th, you might get some -- admittedly not great -- tickets to Wicked and Spamalot, but should have no problems with other shows. The Color Purple was sold out when I tried to see it a few weeks ago, but I tried for tickets the day after Oprah was on Letterman.

So, basically, try for Spamalot and Wicked at the box-office, anything else should be available at TKTS.
