Look out for a good restaurants that has a good vibe in for a female going in on her own. I could be too tired to do too much on my first day so it is case of going with the flow.

Thanks nywizz for pointing out the error re days of the weeks - my excitement finally getting something down on paper in the early hours. I will keep an eye out on the forum

Okay folks the dates are right, but the days of the week are wrong!

Hi Crazy Gracie,

Your itinerary does look really good...I got some inspiration from that!

I am leaving on christmas eve as well and I am so excited about experiencing a NYC Xmas...

Have a wonderful time and post a report when you return!

If it were me I would go to at least one Broadway Show.

Thanks Folks

Hope you have a great time as well Lloanna and look forward to seeing your report as well.

I also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year especially to the folks that have given us advice and tips for our visits to New York.

If you%26#39;ve got the energy, be sure to visit the holiday bazaars on Christmas Eve. It%26#39;s their last day, so there will be crowds, but it%26#39;s worthwhile. In midtown, there%26#39;s one in the main waiting room in Grand Central Station and another in Bryant Park, behind the public library on 5th Ave.

Hope you get to do more than ';walk along Central Park.'; Its fantastic to explore the park, even in winter.

If you%26#39;re up for staying up late on New Year%26#39;s Eve, you%26#39;re welcome to join our midnight celebration at Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, where we%26#39;ll be enjoying the fireworks.

Thank you for that tip - I am sure I find the energy!!!

Very reasonable and well-planned. You%26#39;ve given yourself room to explore. When you go to the Village, don%26#39;t forget to go to Soho, especially if you like shopping.

If you like to see new art, go to the west Chelsea area. Many art galleries are located in the area bounded by 8th Ave to 10th Ave. and 21st to 30th Streets.

I second the idea of a Broadway or Off-Broadway show instead of the cinema.

Have a great time!

If, on Christmas Eve you%26#39;re going to stroll from your hotel in Murray Hill to GCT and Chrysler Bldg.....walk up Madison Ave north of 37th ST. to see if Madison Bistro is open (west side of street.)

If it is open, then this would be a friendly, safe place for a single woman to have dinner.

Good luck,

Joe in NYC

Happy holidays everyone as they say in States

Wow - although it took ages to clear through customs at JFK it did not dampen my spirits. Wow is all I can say. Did not intend to do so much walking yesterday but sometimes my feet get carry away. Check out Grand Central station and the bazaar, got lost a couple of times but had a brilliant map to get my locations each time. Ended up the Rockfeller Centre - what a beautiful sight - then walk towards Broadway - Wow.

Not sure where my feet will take me today but I would check out where that Bristo is I missed that message yesterday - Thanks. Time is almost out on this internet I am using at the hotel but I will be back.
