urgent help needed!! -teens-

hey there everyone,

Im 16 and i live in New York, Westchester. So about 6 girls and I are planning to have a nice fancy dinner in New York City for one of my girlfriend%26#39;s 16th birthday.

So basically i left this to the veryt last minute, as her birthday is on the 30th of December, but any nice fancy restaurants that are teen friendly? have nice food, no specific restaurant like Italian, German or anything.

Thanks in advance, any feedback is greatly appreicated. MERRY cHRISTMAS!

I would have recommended Balthazar or Union Square Cafe but at this late date, I fear reservations would be impossible to come by (especially since this is New York%26#39;s busiest. most crowd intensive week of the year).

For a lovely atmosphere and terrific food, there%26#39;s Bayard%26#39;s which is at downtown at

1 Hanover Sq (between Pearl and Stone Streets).

It%26#39;s in a beautifully restored 19th Century building with antique decorations, and thus is definitely ';nice, fancy.'; If by ';teen friendly'; you mean that they respect teenage diners, it is, as I have taken a teenage niece here. If you mean someplace raucous and lively, then no. For that, I would suggest maybe walking down Park Avenue South and seeing a place that you like.

How about Apple on Waverly Place? Not expensive, has veggie and Vietnamese food, and is in the heart of Greenwich Village.

Even if you don%26#39;t like that one, there are many fun place s in that area. Try Dojo (very inexpensive Aisan veggie food) or El Cantinero (great Mexican in nice atmo that lets you sit for hours.) Look them up on Menupages:

BBQs (or Dallas BBQ) is also good for hungry teens! Lots of unhealthy fried food and yummy frozen virgin margaritas!! Various locations, but one in Village is independent (and the better one). Not fancy, but fun!

Five Points

Go earlyish.

Five Points is a great suggestion, NY Whiz.

Menu of Five Points seems a bit pricey for teenagers. Then again, are you taking Mom and Dad%26#39;s credit card?

;o)

QB, my problem with this thread wasn%26#39;t price, but what do teenagers consider fancy? When I was that age Beefsteak Charlie%26#39;s seemed the height of class and sophistication (especially with all the wine, beer or sangria you could drink). lol
