Hey guys heading to new york in January thinking of aplying for a credit card does anyone have any ideas on the best one to get. This will be my first cedit card and i don%26#39;t want to be ripped of. Thanks in advance

Have you got access to Nationwide over in NI? It%26#39;s one of a small number that don%26#39;t charge you a conversion fee for foreign purchases, so you can save quite a bit of money. It%26#39;s the only card I use when abroad or doing shopping on the Net from international sites. www.nationwide.co.uk

I think all the others charge....this is the only one I%26#39;ve come across so far that doesn%26#39;t :)

simbo..if you go to moneysupermarket.com and do a search for credit cards they might have more information on there. I think there might be one other company, but can%26#39;t be certain. I%26#39;ve been very pleased with the Nationwide...their current account also lets you get money from ATM%26#39;s abroad direct from your account without them charging a fee either..the machine provider may, but you%26#39;ll save on one charge!
