Looking for a quality hotel in a central but safe area...

Young couple wishing to explore New York, sites and attractions, shops etc. Seem to be a bit spoilt for choice, can anyone recommend a 4* hotel in a good location?

Also thinking of going to a Nicks game, any tips or suggestions? Thanks xx

When are you coming? How much are you willing to spend per night? I wouldn%26#39;t worry so much about safe locations--any place where there%26#39;s a 4-star hotel is going to be safe. I would think more about what you want to be near. Times Square is very central, but it%26#39;s very hectic, and not a typical NY neighborhood. The Upper West side is more neighborhood-y, but not trendy, and on and on . . .

Hi Alex, we are looking to come end of Jan, beginning of Feb, willing to pay going rate for a quality hotel. Want to see as many landmarks and attractions as poss in a short space of time (and fit in some shopping as well!) wondered if anyone could recommend some and therefore most convenient area to enable us to do this. Many Thanks.

There are so many choices and you still haven%26#39;t given us anything much to go on, either in price or location or style of hotel. Do you want something trendy or traditional? Do you prefer being right in the middle of things or in a nice residential area with good transportation?

I don%26#39;t know much about sports tickets but you should start by spelling the team KNICKS. They play at Madison Square Garden when at home. On Jan 31 they play the LA Lakers. This will be a sold out game (if it isn%26#39;t already) but you might find tickets on stubhub.com or through a broker. Here%26#39;s the schedule and link to the regular ticketmaster outlet
