Infants in Taxis/Town Cars

Thanks NYWHIZ for a prevoius post on town cars, just booked for 26th Dec from JFK for $40 through Carmel. Seems like a good deal compared to taxi.

Please can anyone tell me the laws/rules on child seats as my 2 year old will be in the car too?

Also am I right in thinking that with toll of $4 a dn tip I should be giving the driver about $50-$55?

Has anyone else used Carmel and has any comments?

Many thanks in advance

Steve

Oddly, the child safety seat law doesn%26#39;t extend to taxis and livery cars. Some limo companies provide them on request, you might check with Carmel.

Your tip sounds right.

Enjoy your visit.

Betina, thanks for the advice. Just waiting for lift to the airport, should be there 4:0pm local, can%26#39;t wait.

Bye

Happy New Year

Although the law does not apply to taxi or car service many of them do have car seats available. Ask. (sometimes these are grimy from being in the trunk-- but better to use them if they are available)

take your own. A little bitof hassle is worth it for the peace of mind. You know your car seat you know it%26#39;s safe. A kids life isnt worth the risk.

we took ours and I am really glad. Our daughter was 3 when we were out there just over a week ago and we had carmel both going and coming to the airport and trust me you will feel happier with the kid safe!

we were clinging on for dear life!
