I%26#39;m travelling to NYC in Jan. with my daughters 8 %26amp; 11. I%26#39;d love some input as what are some great sites that are kid friendly. We%26#39;ve visited last year and saw Beauty %26amp; Beast, American Girl revue, Toys R Us on Broadway, The Met (but that is a trip in itself!), ate at Serendipity 3 %26amp; Carmines, saw Statue of Liberty %26amp; Ground Zero, toured around Chinatown. They LOVE New York and chose it over Disneyworld!
Coming to NYC with daughters...ideas?How about:
The Museum of Natural History
The Central Park Zoo
Two Boots restaurant
The Hall of Science and the Panorama at the Queens Museum
Trinity Church, South Street Seaport Museum and Sub-Treasury Building
I%26#39;m sure you know how to search this forum for more info:

Coming to NYC with daughters...ideas?QB has given you great info. Another website that has a calendar of events (and other ideas) for kids is gocitykids.com It doesn%26#39;t require registering to use it.
For a show, how about Chitty Bang Bang or Hairspray. Off Broadway, Slava%26#39;s Snow Show, Drumstruck and Stomp are also popular with kids.
You haven%26#39;t done FAO Schwarz? It could be expensive, but you should go.
This time check out Soho and Greenwich Village. You might even consider a walking tour. The Tenement Museum on the lower east side is very popular and a good way to see that area which is becoming trendy. ;) Try a flea market on the weekend. Take a ride on the Roosevelt Island tram.
Maybe try one of the smaller museums like the Frick. The Forbes museum is free and has a great collection of toy soldiers and boats.
But my 2 biggest recos are going for a fancy afternoon tea and checking out the new observatory at Rock. Ctr., Top of the Rock which recently opened. Maybe try the tea at American Girl, OR go to one of the hotels like the St. Regis for a more grown up experience. Here%26#39;s a previous post about afternoon tea with lots of options in all neighborhoods.

Tenement Museum is good idea, esp if kids like story-telling. They have guided tours.
We%26#39;ve never been to Soho or Greenwich....what are some kid friendly places in those areas?
Note: Greenwich is a wealthy town in Connecticut, but we call the neighborhood in NYC is ';the Village';.
Two Boots has at least three restaurants in the Village.
There are a few diners around, which are cheap, use unbreakable dishes, and have a variety of food from milkshakes to linguine in clam sauce - Washington Square diner, the Waverly, Silver Spurs, Cooper Square...
There%26#39;s a few casual places on 6th Ave. from Bleecker up to 8th Street. Grap a hot dog and papaya drink on the go at Gray%26#39;s Papaya! There%26#39;s a Mexican fast food place, too (forgot the name) If all else fails, try Pizzeria Uno on 6th AVe and 7th St.
Use www.menupages.com to find all these. Search the Greenwich Village map. No worries - once you%26#39;re there, you%26#39;ll see many options.
American Girl Place for lunch and a show -- near rockefeller, check their website. Perfect for those ages.
