For those of you who have recently married in NY....

Our friends are marrying in NY in March 06 in Central Park. We are the only guests and witnesses and are going to treat them to a nice meal afterwards. My question is - if you wore a wedding dress for the ceremony, did you then change out of it? I think the wedding is at 2pm and we are gonna go to a bar afterwards and then for dinner. I thought it would be really nice if the bride %26amp; groom could stay dressed up (to get more attention) but do you think that would look silly walking into the Mandarin Oriental bar in a wedding dress??

Hi Pippanda

I got married in Central Park, NYC at the beginning of October. Hubby and I stayed in our wedding attire the whole day, it was great! We took a stroll round the park to the Boathouse for Champers and noticed about 5 other newly weds! You do get lots of attention and many congrats, it made us feel famous! Plus we were treated to a wonderful Gondola ride on the lake and heard many more congrats and whoops of joy whilst being serenaded, it was the most perfect day.

I felt amazing walking round NYC in my wedding dress so I%26#39;m sure your friend will feel the same and far from silly 脺

Keep us posted

Cheers x

They wouldn%26#39;t look ';silly.'; They%26#39;d look like they%26#39;d just gotten married. The couples who%26#39;ve gotten married that I know of did not change their clothes. They went decked out!

Thanks Diva78 and NYWhiz - I will pass on your messages to my friend. x

Agree with previous posts.

Wedding dress works ANYWHERE in this city and ensures celebrity treatment.

Don%26#39;t give it another thought.

Hiya Pippanda~

One photo opportunity you can%26#39;t miss is taking them to Times Square in their wedding kit and having their picture taken with Naked Cowboy. He%26#39;s a guy standing there almost naked in only a pair of cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, a guitar and a two-pair of y-fronts (I guess to preserve at least a little modesty).

Hey Guys, is naked cowboy still there?

Have you already checked with the NY State License Bureau to find out how to apply for a license, and have you lined up someone to perform the ceremony?

Cheers,

Dev

Hi Dev

Yeah I saw the Naked Cowboy in November when we were over - that is such a wicked idea to get a photo of them with him! Thanks.

Apparently the whole kit and caboodle is booked - we just turn up on the day, look pretty and sign on the dotted line as witnesses and then got and get v drunk somewhere!!
