Larry Reuter, chairman of the MTA, has informed the NYPD that there will be partial restoration of service by 10PM tonight, and it is expected that full service will be restored in time for rush hour tomorrow.

Some buses are already operating, more will be operating by tonight, and they expect to have subways operating by Friday morning rush.





According to the mayor, the special strike taxi fares and other special strike rules remain in effect until midnight tonight, when there will be a return to metered fares (except the usual JFK flat fare).





Many cultural institutions (esp. museums) are offering special discounts and deals to people who show a Metrocard. There is info on these on www.nyc.gov, on the page for the Dept. of Cultural Affairs.




I did read that Zabars had reported a drop in profits over the last couple of days B ;)
