We have tentatively decided to use Petes Downtown restaurant as a site for our rehearsal dinner in July. We wanted a place in Brooklyn... that had a separate party room for a large crowd. No one else seemed to have that-- the others wanted us to rent out their whole restaurant. It seems to have a lovely location near the Promenade and close to the Bridge. The menu seems a liitle dull though. Has anyone eaten there? What are your opinions? Pete did seem nice and anxious for our business. I would like anyones comments. Thank you!
Petes Downtown Restaurant Brooklyn
Haven%26#39;t eaten there. I hear it%26#39;s just basic red sauce Italian.
Did you check with Bubby%26#39;s? They have a location in DUMBO (between Brooklyn %26amp; Manhattan bridges) and it appears they have a private party room or area.

Petes Downtown Restaurant Brooklyn
I ate in the party room after a niece%26#39;s confirmation. The location is great, but the restaurant itself is basically just a good, generic Italian place -- although perfectly fine of its kind. I wouldn%26#39;t dissuade anyone from eating there for a nice, old-fashioned Italian meal, but it doesn%26#39;t seem quite special enough to me for a rehearsal dinner.
Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about petes Downtown. If anyone has any suggestions on places in Brooklyn( close to the bridge, or there abouts)that might have a party room, I would love to hear them.We had originally wanted 5 front, but they wanted $10,000 to close the restaurant and accomodate 60 people. I live in Florida, but the wedding couple lives in Brooklyn. They are not very familiar with places that have party rooms. Thanks!
I did a websearch and found
The Marriott Brooklyn Bridge hotel
this list of restaurants
brooklynnow.com/waterfront/restaurants.html
It lists 5 Front. St. as having a private party room. Is it not big enough for your party? Did you check Bubby%26#39;s?
Hi
The food at Five Front is very good %26amp; they also have a very pretty garden area that%26#39;s divided in the back (smaller bar-ish area on the left, larger dining area on the right)...maybe they could set up the bar area or part of the larger area for your group? I love eating back there during spring/summer months (however, as your dinner is in July, you may want to opt for an air conditioned interior space depending on the group%26#39;s tolerance for heat).
On the Manhattan side, at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge is the Bridge Cafe, located on the very picturesque Water St...not sure if they have a private dining area, but their food is good also...down the street from it, at Peck Slip, is Quartino, a pretty Italian restaurant w/very good food. Just some options to consider...congratulations to both of you!
sorry, just saw your reply about Five Front%26#39;s cost...hope one of the other suggestions works out.
