Does anyone know how long would this strike be? Should I still come if strike is still on? Walking is fine to me... but its hard when it is cold~~~

Depends on when you are planning on leaving. Is it today? I doubt either side can afford to have this last past a week.

Hopefully it won%26#39;t last long, but at the present moment the strike%26#39;s duration is unknown. Yes, walking can be difficult for some when it is cold, so you should take that into account. You don%26#39;t mention when you are coming, but keep listening to the news for the latest updates.

New York Cold is no where as bad as Toronto Cold! You%26#39;ll be fine! If the strike is still on, just bring a good pair of hiking boots. New York is a great walking city.
Where in NYC will you be staying? That would determine, to a large degree, how far your walks will be.
I know I have lived in Toronto for more than 9 years... but I think it is a shame to say that... I can%26#39;t stand cold! (Why am I still living in Toronto? LOL)
I will be staying in New Jersey side, so PATH is good for me to get to Manhattan.
I am planning to stay in the Financial District for a day. The furthest north I plan to go is The Museum of Natural History. Other activities would be mid-town like TOR / Grand Central area.
I was planning to take the subway to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan...
Then I plan to buy off-broadway tickets from TKTS... so I dont know where I will be @ night for shows...
And also spend the new years eve @ Times Square.
I have read that the last strike lasted 11 days.. hope this won%26#39;t happen!

Another Question. Would there be any security/safety issue of any kind when strike is on?

I%26#39;m not sure if you know yet, but the strike has finally ended. It ended last night. Honestly if you can deal with the cold of Toronto, NYC should be a breeze for you! Enjoy!
The strike is over so you shouldnt have that much trouble...my mom who workds in rockefeller centre said that today it wasnt that bad but the days that the strike was on she had to walk about an hr b/c of the strike...but you shouldnt have any problems now! i hope this helps!
