Any experience with 1291 Sleep (http://www.1291sleep.com)

The pictures on the front page are quite nice but when you go deeper into the site the quality -kind of - goes down

Funny I was doing some research for someone on hostels and found a hostel on 55 st %26amp; Broadway (midtown) with 1291 in the name. Thought this was the same place and it%26#39;s not. Not sure about the location of your place. Lexington Ave. up that far used to be a bit dodgey. Don%26#39;t know if it still is. The place I was thinking of doesn%26#39;t look as nice but the location is right near Times Square

It doesn%26#39;t look too great. I%26#39;m not 100% sure of that block, but it generally is a world of difference below 96th Street.

I find it funny that they advertise as having door-to-door airport service, and then tell you to call Super Shuttle (the worst!).

There%26#39;s a B%26amp;B located on East 93rd (or is it 95th?) Street that%26#39;s reported to be o.k.

Hi, www.1291sleep.com is the worst place on earth!!! IS BOGUS!!! we booked by internet, then call to be sure the location was right and verify that is not in spanish harlem...well it is in worst spanish harlem ever, the windows covered with metal bars...horrible,INSECURE. Nobody at the front desk and people waiting in the street with their baggages and confirmation mails in their hands. Just to said we try to call to see if it was the correct adress, but no bell, nobody answering the phone, no nothing, also the taxi driver told us that he think is not a very good idea to stay there because of the neiborhood...DONT STAY HERE!!! The taxi took us to a place really nice the Hudson Hotel.

Please!!!Don%26#39;t even try booking at 1291 sleep.I just got back from there and it was terrible.I never saw the innkeepers, probably to ashamed to look at as in the eyes as the pictures of their place are not true!The place is so dirty and unhealthy.Our bed linens weren%26#39;t fresh, we found hair in it.We kept killing cokroaches and the dust was unbearable.Luckily we found a better place and for the same money we were in a very clean and nice place in midtown.The night we arrived at 1291sleep nobody was there to greet us, we stood for over an hour on a cold solitary road and then discovered they%26#39;d left our room%26#39;s door open for us.But still it was so weird to stay in a place without knowing who runs it.We talked to other guests and had our same exact experience.The only difference that they stood outside the door 7 hours!!7 hours of your holiday spent sitting outside a door wondering if you%26#39;ll ever get the room you%26#39;ve paid for.DON%26#39;T GO THERE.Please

They are all the same company. 1291 sleep, apartments, etc., with multiple locations from midtown to spanish harlem. Read my review at http://1291beware.bravehost.com/ to see how bad it really is.
