I don%26#39;t know either but the reviews do sound great. Bella Napoli is mostly just a pizza place but they do have a website so you could email them.

Look on the bottom right of the page for an email link.

Basilica sounds more charming but it doesn%26#39;t seem to have a website or email.

Have you looked at Cascina?

Great reviews for pizza, homemade pasta and inexpensive, good wine from their own vineyard outside Milan.

I only know Bella Napoli. My office has had takeout from there (pizza and other Italian dishes). While it%26#39;s well regarded in the neighborhood (and in my office), and there is a sit-down restaurant at the Mad Avenue location (I haven%26#39;t been in), it looks pretty casual to me -- the emphasis being more on takeout, esp. pizza. I suggest you follow the advice above, and look more carefully at those other two places.

Thanks for the information but cascina is a little bit expensive for pasta, but it sounds good. Well any other suggestions ? There%26#39;s a lot of restaurants in ny it%26#39;s crazy. thanks ;-))

I%26#39;m having a hard time understanding what you%26#39;re looking for or what price. Do you just want a neighborhood place? Since you%26#39;re in NYC, I%26#39;d think you would want some sort of NY experience rather than just any old Italian rest.

What about Otto%26#39;s. It%26#39;s an upscale pizza place but they also have pasta. Best is it%26#39;s right at the foot of Fifth Ave. near Washington Square park in the village. Lovely neighborhood. Doesn%26#39;t look like they%26#39;re doing anything special (or expensive) for NYE.

Other thought is to go to the lower east side or the upper westside--just somewhere out of midtown.

What about Il Vagabondo on the upper east side? It%26#39;s nothing fancy but they have a bocci court which could be fun.
