Cooperstown in winter?

My husband%26#39;s 30th is Dec 29. I was hoping to surprise him with a trip to Cooperstown in Feb. We%26#39;ve never been. Do you think we should wait until the spring?

The second weekend in feb usually bring winter carnival. Lots of activities to help us locals battle cabin fever. Take a look at www.cooperstowncarnival.org. Not up to date for the coming carnival yet but probably is in the works.

also go to www.cooperstownchamber.org they will be a lot going on as cooperstown will host to the new york state snow carving finals, winner to go on to the national finals if you do come bring warm clothing

The December issue of Cottage Living features Cooperstown at Christmas time. It is a beautiful time to visit. Pick up the issue with ideas and suggestions. Consider the Landmark Inn for your stay. Ask about Room #3 or Room #2.

My birthday is also Dec 29 and I went to cooperstown (dec 8-11) just before I turned 40. One of the greatest trips of my life.

If you are looking for a good value, stay at the tunnicliff - its the best location there is. the rates change every season so check their website. see my dec review of the tunnifcliff.

I loved off season! This is a very quaint town. There were only about 15 people in the hall of fame on Dec 9th and it was like a religious experience for me. summer is a mad house (so i%26#39;ve heard)

Restaurants for dinner: Hoffmans bistro, blue mingo, and niccolettas.

If you stay at the tunnicliff, you won%26#39;t need your car.
