A Last Minute Shoe Question - Does Everyone Where Monola's?

I was under the impression that comfy shoes are a must when in New York as everyone walks everywhere but whilst surfing yesterday I found a site that had over 1000 reasons why we love NY and one of them was....We walk everywhere but always in great shoes.

I know I wont be wearing dressy shoes or high boots during the day site seeing (im not that mad) but does everyone have a %26#39;Carrie%26#39; shoe collection for the evenings?

22 hrs to go and I still havent packed LOL

A Last Minute Shoe Question - Does Everyone Where Monola's?

Emma, by all means take dressy up shoes if that%26#39;s what you want to do and if you are going to places that may require a more dressy up outfit. I took heels the first time and never wore them cause it was much more comfortable walking in flats and we never went anywhere posh for dinner, I did have a fairly smart pair of flats that I wore when we went to bars in the evening but with all the walking we did (even at night) I couldn%26#39;t have managed in heels - if you find that you need a pair of heels you could always go out and buy some whilst you%26#39;re there (any excuse for shopping!)

Have a great time - and get packing!!!! lol!

A Last Minute Shoe Question - Does Everyone Where Monola's?

Yes, we do have a reputaiton for wearing great footwear, and having a high podiatrist-to-resident per capita ratio!

Sure bring nice shoes if you want, but don%26#39;t worry about the fashion police if you wear Rockports, Merrels or plain tennis shoes. Considering the strike is still on, wear comfortable shoes and carry the heels in a bag. Even Carrie would do that, with a proud tear in her eye!

(Wow, I never realized how serious this SATC epidemic is!)

...or wear flip flops like the workers at Abercombie and Fitch!!!

I have noticed this in London as well...don%26#39;t people get cold??!!!!

Great shoes don%26#39;t have to be ugly or unfashionable, that is the point.

Case in point - UGGS - however, they are ugly, but comfortable %26amp; warm.

Anyone who walks around in those kind of shoes all day (Manolo%26#39;s, etc) need to have their heads examined, besides their feet.

Here here!

UGGS are the best....its like walking around in slippers.

Emma - if you plan on walking anywhere - make sure you bring comfy shoes. i almost never wear heals since I walk everywhere and the heals that I do own can be worn for walking.

Yes, considering the strike comfortable shoes are a must!

And no we don%26#39;t all wear Manolos or Choos..we all can%26#39;t afford them! But alot of us do have a shoe wardrobe to beat the band!

Whenever I travel I bring a pair of nice heels....just in case!

Weather right now is really cold - you need to keep your feet warm as well as comfy. Weather report for Christmas Day is looking like rain with a possible drop in temperature leading to snow. I was in the city on Saturday and there were soooooo many people moving from one place to another it took much longer than usual to get around, and we ended up on our feet 3 hours longer than anticipated. And now there is a strike!!!!! Go for comfortable shoes!!!! and keep sexy for later.

Pretty sure I didn%26#39;t see any Monola%26#39;s on the Brooklyn Bridge this morning, or anyone that looked liked Sarah Jessica Parker either for that matter!

Comfortable and fabulous looking are not mutually exclusive! There are tons of gorgeous boots with low or flat (not to mention cushy) heels. Most of us definitely do not walk around in Manolo%26#39;s and, if the streets are slushy when you arrive - well, yuk! Wear comfortable and beautiful footwear day and evening and you%26#39;ll enjoy your trip all the more...
