Does anybody know how long this strike is for? Is it just buses and the subway that are affected?

Who knows? Right now we are in day 2, it has been declared an illegal strike, fines galore, let%26#39;s see how it plays out.

Yes, it is any transportation under the auspices of the MTA, buses, subways %26amp; some private bus lines.

The Long Island Railraod, Metro NOrth railroad, Staten Island Ferry, Path Trains, NJ transit are running, so there are options.

A slight correction to the above response: the modes of transportation affected are NOT those of the MTA, but of the MTA%26#39;s subsidiary agency that goes by the legal name of the ';New York City Transit Authority';, or NYC Transit for short. The Long Island Rail Road, the MetroNorth Railroad, and Long Island Bus are all MTA agencies, but they are NOT affected by this strike.
