Diamond district, do they have nice decorations on their...

Please tell us if it%26#39;s worth including diamond district in our plan of windows shopping along 5th Ave on Xmas Day 25th. Many thanks

Diamond district, do they have nice decorations on their...

No, not unless you are looking for jewelry.

Diamond district, do they have nice decorations on their...

Not only do those guys not do windows, they take the jewelry out of the window when the store%26#39;s closed for security purposes. Here%26#39;s a map I found for doing the windows

Most of the stores in the Diamond District are owned and operated by Orthodox or Hasidic Jews - so having Christmas decorations would not be likely.

If you consider jewelery a decoration, yes. May of the businesses in the District are operated by Hasidim and Orthodox Jews, so you are more likely to see a menorah than any Christmas decor.

And a stroll through the District is always enjoyable, my wife and I were there Wednesday and it always amazes us to see so much jewelery presented in so many different variations.

Check it out, worth a look.

Everyone%26#39;s already given you the answer.....you%26#39;re gonna see more jewelry in one place than you MAY have ever seen.....but you%26#39;re not likely to see seasonal decorations.

DO stroll the block between 5th %26amp; 6th Avenues on 47th Street.

Don%26#39;t go on Friday afternoon or Saturday for the reasons already indicated in the posts above.

Part of the excitement is the marvelous vendor collections but also the fact that men are walking back and forth, in front of you and in plain view, carrying hundreds of thousands (and sometimes millions) of dollars in unmounted gemstones. They are not typically armed, and they are not even particularly obvious.

If you%26#39;re not shopping, the whole experience is worth no more than an hour.

Enjoy.

Given the above info, I%26#39;m surprised nobody made this salient point: the Diamond District will be open for buisness on Xmas Day, Dec. 25th. Buy your very own little ice crystal.

Don%26#39;t forget the windows at Tiffany%26#39;s. they are always very pretty.

Queensboulevard, are you quite certain that diamond district would be open for business on Xmas Day? Many thanks again

Mrsdrron thinks they have very lovely decorations. However usually a few more carats than my credit card will bear.

Yes, they will be open. Sunday is one of their main business days, and Xmas is not observed by Orthodox Jews. The stores will be closed on Saturday, the 24th.
