Will be in NYC for 1/2 day (early morning to mid afternoon). Any suggestions on great bakeries and lunch spots? Nothing fancy, just great food.
In NYC for 1/2 day, any good bakeries and lunch spots?I%26#39;ll be in the Park Ave area between West 37th %26amp; 38th and plan to walk around the area.
In NYC for 1/2 day, any good bakeries and lunch spots?Don%26#39;t know what you%26#39;re looking for in a bakery but Junior%26#39;s (deli) inside Grand Central Station (Lexington %26amp; 42 st) has some of the best cheese cake in NYC. There are also lots of other options inside Grand Central for eating both casual and nicer. Two Boot is a good pizza place.
If you want more of a food experience, Artisanal is a ';destination'; French brasserie known for their cheese selections. They have a prix fixe lunch for $20 that%26#39;s excellent. Here%26#39;s a list of most of the restaurants in the area. As you%26#39;ll see, there are lots of different ethnic choices. www.menupages.com/restaurants.asp鈥?/a>
I hear Penelope%26#39;s (Lex. %26amp; 30th) is good. The Silver Leaf Tavern inside the Park 70 hotel, right at your location is very good but may be fancier than you want.
I%26#39;d walk the few blocks to Grand Central (42nd St) and go to the food court ffor an hour. Ain%26#39;t nothin%26#39; like the Oyster Bar and Junior%26#39;s Cheesecake! Bring some cheescake and some pastries from Zarro%26#39;s home. ';Very'; New York.
Thanks so much! Never would have thought of going to the food court at Grand Central Station. I always thought of food courts as your typical mall fare which isn%26#39;t that great. Thanks again.
