Jazz club + restaurants in Chelsea

Hello

I will be visiting New York with my family for 3 nights on the 29th. We%26#39;re staying in Chelsea and would really appreciate some recommendations for restaurants in the area. Also, we%26#39;d all quite like to go to a Jazz Club - again, has anyone any reccomendations? My son is only 19 - will this cause us problems with entry?

Thanks very much

I heard some exciting news recently that the club ';Smalls'; recently reopened. It is a great, you guessed it, small place on 10th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues which is close to Chelsea. They have 12 hours of music every night and late night jams often last until 8 in the morning. There is a relatively small cover charge and I don%26#39;t think there is an age minimum. I went there when I was 18 so your son is fine. They don%26#39;t have an alcohol license so feel free to bring in a 6-pack of beer or a bottle of wine and if you shared with your son they probably won%26#39;t care.

All of this advice might be wrong if Smalls has not actually reopened or if it has changed dramatically.

Good news...they have reopened! Apparently they have expanded the space and now have a full bar. It appears that all ages are still welcome.

Besides Smalls you have the Village Vanguard on 7th Avenue South

You also have The Blue Note in the Village, a great place, too., 131 W 3rd Street off 6th Avenue. I have been here with a 15 year old, no problem.
