Looks like the Strike May End

Looks like strike may be over by end of day

Looks like the Strike May End

There has been a proposal by a mediator to have the union workers go back if the MTA will take reduction in pension benefits off the table but can negotiate health benefits as a substitute. It seems that the head of the union ans MTA have agreed to this. The executive committee of the union have to meet and agree. Also they have agreed on a ';media blackout';--so you are not going to hear anything about this for some time.

Looks like the Strike May End

Hopefully we will have good news by end of day.....the media blackout will be a good thing, in my opinion.

Well, see ya on the subway!!!!

That is good news. :-) As I%26#39;m leaving tomorrow!! Whatever happens we%26#39;ll have a fantastic time but it might make getting around a little easier....

I understand the union%26#39;s executive board is scheduled to meet at 1PM. If they approve the mediator%26#39;s proposal, they say the subways and buses could be running for the Friday morning commute.

I doubt things will be up and running by Friday, in the event of the end of the strike. It takes 12 to 24 hours to prepare and test tracks and restore service. My prediction is Sunday.
