Hi there, is there a romantic restaurant in New York City that won%26#39;t break the bank, doesn%26#39;t require a jacket and isn%26#39;t very foo foo. (My version of foo foo is a salad that has lettuce other than iceberg) We%26#39;ll be in midtown. I might be asking for much, but you never know...
Romantic restaurantYou want iceberg lettuce??? Joe Allen makes a La Scala salad with finely chopped iceberg along with salami, Provolone, red Peppers and whole chickpeas. Some of the steakhouses serve iceberg lettuce salads but I doubt you want to eat steak in NYC coming from Texas.
Poster Queensboulevard often mentions Candela as an affordable romantic place.
Romantic restaurantWow, that iceberg lettuce comment is a challenge. Do people still use it salad? Is iceberg lettuce even a vegetable?
Get thee to Candela, muy pronto! You won%26#39;t be sorry.

It is on 16th Street, east of Union Square. Worth the subway trip. Take the N, R Q or W trains to 14th St., Union Square. If you are coming form midtown, stay in the back of the train and exit at 16th St. Cross through the park to the east side.
Also, search this forum for words like ';romantic restaurant';, and you%26#39;ll see posts like this one:
